JAMUHURI DAY celebrations

Folks, if you for a minute soak up the history of this GREAT NATION KENYA, the significance of JAMUHURI DAY, some 58 years ago will certainly hit you like a thunderbolt!

Yesterday’s JAMUHURI DAY celebrations sure left me feeling GREATER, MORE DESERVING of living within these borders, and to share in the stuff of legends that came before us, OURSELVES and many more to come. I look into the future with HOPE, ENDLESS HOPE!

Indeed, no wiser words have been spoken since Winston Churchill quipped “the further back you look, the further ahead you can see.”

Well, Kenya is at that halfway point in history where a lot can be renegotiated and recalibrated, remedied or altogether CHANGED in the way we live, see ourselves, WORK, think, essentially in the way we apply ourselves on the ALTER OF “INDEPENDENCE.”

It’s actually TRUE that the nation is INDEPENDENT, but we have individuals struggling under the chains and WEIGHT of WARPED VALUE SYSTEMS, FINANCIAL SLAVERY, MORALLY DECADENT VALLEYS, et al

BUT there’s HOPE!

Here’s to you the highlights of other national leaders’ speeches and that of the President, and CiC of the Kenya Defense Forces.

  1. The “tomb of the unknown soldier” is perhaps the zenith of humility and respect shown by the Commander in Chief for those of us who served, still serving and the more to come, and most importantly, those who paid the ultimate price.
  2. “We must celebrate our defense forces because when they go to war in defense of our borders, they know too well that they will either return hoisting our national frag; or return wrapped in our national flag. This takes boldness and dedication.” – President Uhuru Kenyatta.
  3. I say this: if our society so desires a “GOLDEN” future, then HISTORY (or our historical accounts) remain the GOLD ORE of our aspirations. Our leaders’ realization of the same, and the actualization of that in the form of Uhuru Garden’s transformation into a Modern People’s Park that aims to preserve and display that history is a GIANT LEAP in the RIGHT DIRECTION.
  4. I won’t end this by bathing in some glory here: the displays by Members of the Kenya Defense Forces – the parades, fly-pasts, and skydives, was simply SPECTARCULAR!

Happy to be a LIFE MEMBER of the AIRBORNE FRATERNITY. And ultimate happiness, as they say, is being a PARATROOPER and being ALIVE to brag about it 🤦🏿♂🤪🤗
