Fitness Golden Rule

The GOLDILOCKS RULE states that humans experience PEAK MOTIVATION when working on tasks that are right ON THE EDGE of their ABILITIES. Not too hard. Not too easy. JUST RIGHT!

Research findings in support of the same have it that, the way to MAINTAIN MOTIVATION and achieve PEAK LEVELS of DESIRE is to work on tasks of “JUST MANAGEABLE DIFFICULTY.”

So, MAXIMUM MOTIVATION therefore occurs when facing a CHALLENGE of just manageable difficulty . Psychological sleuths refer to this as the Yerkes-Dodson law , which describes the OPTIMAL LEVEL of AROUSAL as the midpoint between BOREDOM and ANXIETY.

Here’s to you:
As I neared the peak of Cadet Army officer training, I thought I was surely overcoming the training and possibly peaking in my achievements – and I didn’t wanna get too “bored” without ACTION . I needed better challenges after commissioning, so I chose to try for the most elite warrior unit, the parachute regiment. It was only 8 of us in a class of over 140 officers. WELL, this led me to seeking BETTER challenges beyond the Airborne and sure the Special Forces came calling and I DARED AND WON.

A tip of the hat to the GOLDILOCKS RULE.
